No. You and your client retain complete control of the litigation.
At the time your client needs additional assistance, we will further evaluate your client’s case, and, in most cases, will advance additional funds. However, the total advanced amount is normally a small percentage of the total case value, as we try to never infringe upon your settlement.
Yes. You will need to sign the “Acknowledgement by Counsel” where you acknowledge the assignment of a portion of the proceeds and agree to pay the amount due from the settlement proceeds to 5 Star Legal Funding upon settlement of the case. Depending on the case, we require the same documentation that most other funding companies require. This can range from Police or incident reports to initial meds, MRI's and treatment records. But also ask if you can take advantage of our "No Doc" program, where we can evaluate your case based on a simple phone call with one of our underwriters or a detailed email with the case info.

Pre-settlement funding is when a company gives you money now to pay the bills and bridge the gap, while waiting for your case to settle. The company then has the right to receive a portion of your settlement proceeds from the lawsuit. If you don't win your case, you owe nothing to 5 star, which is why it is called a "Non-Recourse Advance".
A Non Recourse advance is just that. An advance, not a loan. And because of that, we don't care about your credit and will never put you into collections. If you don't win your case, you don't owe us anything. There is no monthly payments and you pay nothing back until you get money from your settlement. And once again, it doesn't get paid back if you lose your case.
The amount you may qualify for depends on the details of your case, including the type of claim, the expected settlement value, and how far along your case is. 5 Star Legal Funding offers funding from $500 to over $1,000,000. Once we review your case information with your attorney, we can determine the amount you may be eligible to receive.

A lawsuit does NOT need to be filed. 5 Star will provide advances, as long as there is sufficient information and documentation to allow us to evaluate your claim.
No. There are no upfront fees and you pay nothing until your case settles.
There is an application and processing fee and they are very competitive, however, there is no out of pocket expense or cost to you at all. Payment to 5 Star only comes upon the successful settlement of your case. If you lose your case, you owe 5 Star nothing.
